Who is this for
You don’t watch that much anime, but want some recs. You haven’t watched anime recently, but want some recs. You tend to only watch one genre, and want to expand your palette.
Guidelines
Something I personally watched. 2015-2025. The decade limitation is arbitrary, but it’s to kind of isolate it to something more recent because there’s always going to be those 10 same shows that every anime watcher will recommend from the 2000-2010 era. Only first seasons are listed. If the first season was pre-2015, then it won’t be listed. (i.e. Attack on Titan)
Honorary Mentions
- Takagi-San - It’s the “teasing genre” which isn’t included here. I thought the whole series ended on a nice touch. It wasn’t a show I really liked from the beginning, but it grew on me over time.
- Trigun Stampede - An alternative choice from Land of the Lustrous (Houseki no Kuni). Made by the same studio. It’s a reimaging of the original Trigun in an amazing CG form.
- Lord of the Mysteries - The series just started their S1 and has a bunch of seasons planned just like Solo Leveing. The cinematography of this show is insane to make it worth watching on that alone.
- The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity - I thought this show was a great overall package for anyone who loves a good wholesome romance.
- Apocolypse Hotel - Probably the show I expected the least, and it ended up being incredibly good for an original show.
